The New York Mets’ highly anticipated home opener at CitiField has been postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions.

Originally scheduled for Thursday, the game against the Brewers will now occur on Friday, offering better weather prospects for fans and players alike.

Improved Weather Forecast:

Friday’s forecast promises much better conditions, with dry weather, sun, and temperatures in the 50s expected.

While a bit breezy, the weather outlook starkly contrasts the inclement conditions anticipated on Thursday. Gates will open at 11:40 a.m., an hour before parking lots, and the game will commence at 1:40 p.m.

Ticket Information and Logistics:

Fans holding tickets for Thursday’s game can use them for Friday’s rescheduled match against the Brewers.

The decision to postpone the game was made in light of potential weather-related delays and the likelihood of a total washout on Thursday.

Thursday’s Weather Outlook:

Thursday’s forecast calls for persistent showers throughout the day. Some areas in the tri-state region are expected to receive up to two inches of rainfall.

Southern New Jersey may experience even heavier precipitation, making outdoor activities challenging.

Weekend Forecast and Beyond:

Despite the weather setback on Thursday, the weekend outlook appears favorable, with only patchy sprinkles expected late Saturday night.

Looking ahead, the risk of showers may return by the middle of next week, with temperatures remaining in the mid-to-high 50s over the next ten days.
