The New York Mets are searching for a vibrant individual to carry on the legacy of one of the most beloved mascots in American sports history. 

The Flushing-based ball club has posted a job listing for a dynamic individual to embody the spirit of Mr. Met, serving as the team’s primary brand ambassador. The ideal candidate is described as “high-energy” and “enthusiastic.”

Requirements for the Role:

Applicants must have prior experience as a mascot and the ability to engage in physically challenging activities while wearing the iconic Mr. Met costume. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and multitasking skills are essential for the position.

Beyond entertaining fans during games, the role of Mr. Met’s manager includes:

  • Collaborating with the Mets’ marketing team.
  • Managing budgets.
  • Organizing mascot appearances at various events throughout the city.

Multitasking Skills and Performing Arts Background Preferred:

While experience as a mascot is crucial, candidates with a dance and acting arts background are preferred. These skills enhance the entertainment value of Mr. Met’s performances.

Work Schedule and Salary Details:

The job entails approximately 20 to 25 administrative hours per week and performance hours during game days. The salary for the role ranges from $67,426 to $89,902 per year, reflecting the diverse responsibilities involved.

Prospective candidates must be available for auditions on May 15. At these auditions, they will showcase their enthusiasm, energy, and ability to interact with fans of all ages.
